RI Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea discussed voting by mail, early voting, and in-person voting for the upcoming September 8 state and local primary election. Sec Gorbea also noted that poll workers are needed. Pre-registered and registered voters age 16 and up are eligible to work at the polls on election day. We also discussed what campaign volunteering is like in the time of Covid-19. State Senator Bridget Valverde reviewed procedures for in-person canvassing, and RIDWC Executive Committee member and State Senate candidate Jeanine Calkin discussed how phone banking works--and why it's even more important to do during the coronavirus pandemic.
