[PROVIDENCE, September 21, 2021] It is with great pleasure that the Rhode Island Democratic Women’s Caucus announces its endorsement of Geena Pham in the District 3 Senate special election.
There are many qualified and passionate candidates in this race, and we thank those who applied for our endorsement. This decision was made with much care and deliberation, considering the feedback from the caucus membership, the candidate questionnaires (available to read on our website), and the results of the Rhode Island Democratic Women’s Caucus candidate night.
Geena Pham’s priorities of addressing racial justice, fixing the Providence Public Schools, and promoting access to affordable healthcare (including abortion), align clearly with the goals of our caucus, and we appreciate her personal insights as a formerly low-income woman of color. Pham will continue fighting in the footsteps of the indomitable Senator Goldin, whose work to protect reproductive healthcare and stand against problematic leadership defined this senate seat for many years.
