Michelle McGaw has lived in Portsmouth, RI for nearly 30 years raising a family, volunteering, and working as a pharmacist in elder care. She is running for state representative for District 71 because she believes we deserve a representative who will stand up for us, the voters, not for corporations or party leaders. Michelle is a member of the Portsmouth Democratic Town Committee, the Portsmouth Solid Waste and Recycling Committee, and the Portsmouth Charter Review Committee. She serves on the board for the RI Democratic Women’s caucus and co-founded the Portsmouth Trash Collaborative. She has been active at the Rhode Island State House advocating for better climate policy, protection of reproductive rights, improvements to healthcare and for increased participation in our state government.
